Raleigh/Cary TCM Backlot Chapter Spring Social
Yesterday the Raleigh/Cary TCM Backlot Chapter had its Spring Social. Ten chapter members gathered for for coffee and conversation about our mutual love of classic movies.
We debated the definition of horror – monster movies, slasher flicks, and psychological thrillers all fair game. Member favorites included Nosferatu, The Night of the Hunter, The Exorcist, Gargoyles, The Amityville Horror, Creature from the Black Lagoon, and A Clockwork Orange among others.
With That’s Entertainment III showing in the background, we were compelled to share favorite dance actors in a list including Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire, Gregory Hines, and Donald O’Connor. Not to leave out the ladies, favorite female dancers shared were Ginger Rogers, Cyd Charisse, Eleanor Powell, Leslie Caron, and Ann Miller.
Everyone also shared their favorite film quotes along with ideas for additional Chapter gatherings. Our two hours together ended with door prizes awarded to six attendees, courtesy of TCM Backlot.
