We Could Have Danced All Night: Raleigh/Cary TCM Backlot Chapter Outing

My Fair Lady on the Big Screen

We could have danced all night. Given we just saw the TCM Big Screen Classics 55th Anniversary showing of My Fair Lady (1964)!

The Raleigh/Cary TCM Backlot Chapter enjoyed our outing today to see the classic musical My Fair Lady, winner of eight Academy Awards in 1965. It’s easy to see how My Fair Lady won Best Picture and that Rex Harrison took home the Best Actor award. But the big screen experience drove home why the movie also won for Oscars for Original Music Score and Costume Design, both more splendid experienced in a theater among friends.

After the film, we enjoyed one another’s company and a lively discussion. Chapter member Linda shared with us her recent win of the book Movies Are Magic by Jennifer Churchill in a recent Backlot Chapter contest. Exciting!

Linda’s a Winner!

Looking forward to the next outing with this great group of classic movie-loving friends!
