Backlot Chapter Outing: Steel Magnolias
The Raleigh/Cary TCM Backlot Chapter enjoyed its outing to see the 30th Anniversary TCM Big Screen Classics presentation of Steel Magnolias today. We met up for snacks and movie talk before the film, where we discovered all but one of us had seen the movie before. Nice to have a new classic discovery for a chapter member from time to time.
Afterwards, we compared which scenes brought on the tears. Hospital bedside and graveside ensured there was not a dry eye in the house.

I have tried for 5 years to find a chapter some where in the state of North Carolina. I lived in Greenville, then in Moorehead City, now we live in Williamston. I have been a classic fan all my life and I keep it on all day long. I was a correspondent with Doris Day. I have all her movies and her shows and her books. I also am an Elvis Presley fan. Ihave a book most people have not seen about his other daughter with pictures of her and the teenage sweetheart he kept in touch with. She was coming to Graceland a few days past his death. He and his father had made plans for her and his daughter to move into his home. She was going to help him clean up and get a new physician. His daughter had met her grandfather for the first time but Elvis died 2 days later. She looks just like him, not like his other daughter. She did not asjk for one nickel of her dads estate. She sings and she said she just wanted to know him better help him and love him. I hope to get to know the backlot better. Sincerely Lora J Booth
