Our TCM Club met on March 20 to discuss films that aired on TCM in February. Club guest programmer Liz selected a variety of romances from the 1940s. Her movie picks included:

A Guy Named Joe (1943)
Night Song (1947)
Waterloo Bridge (1940)
Brief Encounter (1945)
The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (1947)
Pride and Prejudice (1940)

Liz took the club through a lively discussion that touched on a variety of themes and Hollywood history. Topics included the Hays Code, representation of disabilities in film and classic ghost stories. All that in addition to talk of romance in the movies. Thanks to Liz for facilitating an interesting 2-hour chat!

Next month, the club hopes to meet in person for the first time in over two years to see the TCM Big Screen Classics 70 anniversary screening of Singing in the Rain. Fingers crossed for sunny skies ahead!
