Our TCM Club met on February 21 to discuss three films from the TCM monthly schedule. Club members could choose to view one, two or three films from the selections of the month:

  • The Bad and the Beautiful (1952): melodrama about a Hollywood producer making his way to the top of the studio system
  • Crossfire (1947): film noir thriller dealing with the theme of anti-Semitism
  • The Enchanted Cottage (1945): romantic fantasy telling the love story of an ex-GI and a housekeeper

The club reviewed each film with at least a third of meeting participants having seen the film being discussed. Everyone had seen at least one of the films, either in February or in the past, and was able to contribute to the conversation. Never at a loss for words, club members once again demonstrated both the depth of their knowledge of and love for classic movies.

The format of the meeting was such a hit that club members plan to do it again with three films selected from the TCM schedule in March.
